Movie:  Sarakari Hiriya Prathamika Shale- Kasargod

Language:  Kannada

Sa.Hi.Pra.Sha- Kasargod is a comedy film that discusses a very serious topic, the existence of Kannada schools in the Karnataka-Kerala border towns like Kasargod, Kanhagad, Manjeshwar etc. Rishab Shetty makes an honest attempt to present the issue with funny sequences, the humour in the film is quite natural and well placed in the story. The locale, the school setup, characters and cinematography is very good. Some moments really evoke rib tickling laughter. But the conflict is never handled with the seriousness it deserves, though in the end there are some sequences that are meant to be emotional, but they never actually do feel so. Anant Nag enters very late into the film, his and Ramesh Bhat’s character are not really developed, and Anant Nag is the one who is supposed to solve the conflict.

Overall, it’s a movie that you don’t mind watching once with your family, but do not expect it to be a master piece. I would rate it 3.5 out of 5, with half star for the brave attempt to make a full length future film on this topic
